TRIGGER: DIY Disaster
I’m a little late posting a Trigger this week, and that’s because I’ve been busy.
I thought I’d have a concerted effort to finish off the decorating in the downstairs loo.
Not a great task I hear you say…after all it’s known as the “smallest room in the house”. Think again…
I’d already done most of it…constructing the vanity unit to house the washbasin, re-laying the wood floor edging, painting the ceiling. My wife had even painted all the woodwork.
All I had to do this weekend was design, construct and install a corner shelving unit, and fit new trimmings such as a new loo roll holder and towel rings.
Enter “Mr. DIY” with trusty electric drill, who measures up the wall, marks out where to drill for the new fitments, and duly proceeds to drill straight through an electric cable buried in the wall.
We now have no power to the Garage. or any outside power point, security lights, etc.
I think the Electrician’s bill to replace the damaged cable (hidden in the wall) is going to be more expensive than getting someone in to do all the work in the first place.
So the trigger is….
DIY Disaster (a.k.a. Electricity / Fused / Sparks)

My, My, That sounds familiar…
You’ve probaly already picked up on the story that Coldplay’s track ‘Viva La Vida’ is allegedly based on the tune from a track by NYC band Creaky Boards.
Now then…let me make it clear that I am not casting aspersions in any direction (looks a Lawyer)…and how would I know which came first anyway???
However, pop over to the Creaky Boards Myspace [here] and have a listen to the track ‘The Songs I Didn’t Write’ then you can form your own opinion.
For a little more background info and a look at Creaky Boards’ video of the track, click [here] for The Sun newspaper’s article.
Coldplay: Full Album Stream
Coldplay have decided to allow fans to stream the full “Viva La Vida”album at their Myspace – a full week before the official album release. If you visit their Myspace you will need to add them as a friend and click on the banner link at the top of the page. You will then be able to stream the full album.
There is, unfortunately, a draw-back for anyone who is in Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and USA…the stream will not be available to you in those countries. If that gives you a problem, you might want to read [here]

TRIGGER: Vasectomy
The idea for this trigger came about when I was listening to a program on local radio where they were discussing the merits of the vasectomy operation.
Me being me, I saw the ‘lighter’ side and thought it might provoke a little mirth with you…the readers.
By the way…I am qualified to see the ‘lighter side’, having paid my dues and seen the more ‘painful side’ of this medical procedure many years ago. (coughs…and checks…)
I got to thinking what songs could best be used with a subject like this and I came up with the tracks below.
BUT I’m sure YOU can think of better ones. Why not leave a comment with your suggestion and if possible I’ll do an update post giving due credit for the suggestions.
Go on, give it a go…..
So the trigger is…

the snip, the chop, firing blanks
