TRIGGER: Storm

It’s been hot and humid here for a few days now.

Cloying….that best describes it.

But I can feel a storm in the air and that should ease things down a little and make it slightly more comfortable.

My dog won’t be pleased though. She hates storms and is guaranteed to be found constantly within 2 inches of me while it lasts. Like wearing a second shadow.  Like me she’s getting old and as she does she’s more prone to being scared by storms, loud bangs, etc. Me? I just get grumpier as I get older. ;)

Personally, I don’t mind storms. I love the feeling of being safe inside whilst I watch the world outside go berserk.

That said, my wife and I experienced one storm we didn’t enjoy and we’ll never forget. We were in the The Netherlands and the biggest storm I’ve ever seen hit and we spent a very uncomfortable time holding onto the metal poles of an awning (trying to stop it blowing away) whilst the Mother of a lightning storm went on around us.

In hindsight we realised how stupid that was…metal poles/lightning + torrential rain and gale force winds = awful risk. Hmmmm….maybe that was the start of the hair loss?????

 Anyway….the trigger is…

TRIGGER: Anniversary

32 years ago today, Mrs Baldyman and I (along with a whole lot of family, friends, etc.) visited a little church close to where she lived. We stood at the front of that church and made some vows. (Then we had a party!!! YAY!!!)

32 years later those vows still hold true and we’re still together, with our own family.
There have been good days and bad days. There have been ups and there have been downs.

32 years later I wouldn’t change a single day.

I pray for another 32 years.

So the trigger is….

Anniversary

I won’t define the word like I usually do.
To me, it’s not just about celebrating the one ‘anniversary day’, it’s about the whole commitment.

Instead, as this is a ‘Music’ site, I’ll leave it to the words of one of the songs below to say how I feel about Mrs. Baldyman…

“You are the air I need to breathe
the river of life inside of me
you are the half that made me whole
you are the anchor of my soul
and you are strong when I am weak
you are the words when I can’t speak
you never fail to see me through
that’s the love I found in you
you are my shelter from the storm
you are the road that leads me home
and baby with you here face to face
Oh I know I’ve found my place
and once in every life
you find the one that’s right
and when you say forever it’s true
That’s the love I found in you”

TRIGGER: Feet

I’ve been eyeing up my wife’s foot spa today. All those soft soapy bubbles and vibration.

You see, as part of my work I walk miles. I drive miles too, but I’ve yet to see a dedicated bum spa…..so a foot spa will have to suffice.

My feet are killing me (if you hadn’t already guessed) and I think the opportunity to put my feet up over the weekend will not materialise, so I’m going to treat myself to a bit of pampering.

Anyway, that leads me nicely into a Trigger, which is…
